Kare/Curry is Indonesian yellow curry soup, cooked with coconut milk. Main ingredients are poultry, beef or mutton. Can be made into vegetarian dish, using tofu, tempeh, or eggplant and other vegetables. It is popular especially during the Moslem New Year Holiday.
The method to cook javanese curry is boil chicken or crab in 900ml of water . Use only 2.5 cup (700ml) of broth and add Bamboe instant spices , cook for 10 mins in medium heat . Add the coconut milk, stir cook for 5 mins. Serve hot.
Kare ingredients are white pepper, coriander, cumin, lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, chilli, shallot and ginger.
