Rawon is a black soup dish specific to East Java. This soup has a strong rich taste and black color that comes from black nut/keluak (pangeumedule). The main ingredients is beef. It is eaten with rice.
The methods to cook rawon is boi beef until half done, then cut into cubes. Use 3,5 cups (750ml) of broth. Add Bamboe spices mix, lemongrass and lime leaves. Turn to low heat until the meat is tender. Serve hot with chili sauce.
The ingredients for this soup are keluak, garlic, shallots, chilli, coriander, lemongrass, turmeric, galangal, salt and vegetable oil.
